Painful footage of Céline Dion shaking uncontrollably in old video is leaving fans deeply concerned

Footage of Céline Dion in the middle of seizure has resurfaced online and has sparked fresh concerns for for the Canadian singer.

In 2024 the ‘My Heart Will Go On’ hitmaker released her documentary, I Am: Celine Dion, on Prime Video.

The moving film’s synopsis reads: “Directed by Academy Award nominee Irene Taylor, I Am: Celine Dion gives us a raw and honest behind-the-scenes look at the iconic superstar’s struggle with a life-altering illness.”

Two years prior to its release, Dion revealed that she’d be diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), a rare condition that only affects around one to two people per million.

Per Cleveland Clinic, SPS causes a person to experience muscle stiffness and painful muscle spasms.

While there’s no cure, there are treatments available to help people manage the debilitating side affects of the condition.

In her documentary, Dion was very candid about her illness and even allowed filmmakers to document the moment she had a ‘crisis’ seizure.

The heartbreaking video showed the 57-year-old lying down and crying as her body shook uncontrollably. A nurse was there comforting her through it all.

A video of this particular moment has been shared on Twitter where people have questioned if the moment should have been caught on camera.

One person said: “I don’t think this should have been documented, what’s the intention behind it?”

Another added: “Why publish someone’s vulnerable and confidential moment like this….. this is invading her privacy.”

Others on social media described the video as ‘heartbreaking’.
