Meghan Markle visiting the UK with her husband Prince Harry will “change the stakes”, a royal commentator has said. Over the past four years, Prince Harry has only ever visited the UK alone, with his wife Meghan opting to stay at home in Montecito with the couple’s children Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five.
However, next month this is all set to change. This is because if Harry can allay new security concerns, he is hoping to bring Meghan, Archie and Lilibet with him to his home country. This will be the first time the family of four has been in the UK together since 2022.
While Harry and Meghan will carry out some charitable engagements while in the UK, the visit will also see them hopefully reunite with Harry’s father King Charles. This would give Archie and Lilibet an opportunity to get to know their royal grandfather.
While the King has seen Harry in some of his recent UK visits, with their last meeting being in September, royal commentator Amanda Matta thinks Meghan being part of this UK visit, and potentially being at a meeting with the monarch, could “change the stakes”.
She told Page Six: “Meghan’s presence would certainly add symbolic weight to any reunion.”

She continued: “If Meghan accompanies Harry to the UK or to a meeting with his family, it would signal to the public that any effort at rebuilding relationships extends to the Sussex family as a whole.
“It just changes the stakes. The challenge in reconciling has never really been about any one person; it has been rebuilding trust across the board.”
Meghan and Harry, along with their children, will be staying at a royal residence during their July trip, which coincides with the one-year countdown event to the 2027 Invictus Games.
Archie and Lilibet are not set to make any public appearances with their parents during the visit.
