‘Most underrated’ Netflix blockbuster with A-list cast leaves fans terrified

With spooky season just around the corner, many of us will be seeking the thrill of a scare at home. The most popular method of watching horror is streaming from the comfort of our sofas, with many fans tuning into Netflix to get their horror thrill. With over 280 horror titles available, one blockbuster that has been labelled by fans as “underrated” is World War Z. Starring Brad Pitt, watching a post-apocalyptic zombie film will certainly get you into the Halloween spirit. Released in 2013, the IMDb synopsis teases: “Former United Nations employee Gerry Lane traverses the world in a race against time to stop a zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatens to destroy humanity itself.”
It’s been over a decade since its release, and it continues to be a classic hit for horror lovers. When it was initially released, reviews from critics and audiences alike were generally positive.

One person at home said on IMDb: “As a regular horror movie, it has everything you want. There are some genuine, high-quality scare moments that will make you jump. The infected look creepy as hell, yet realistically believable.”
A second person also commented: “This movie is extremely UNDER RATED. If you are a fan of the genre, you are guaranteed to like it, and if you aren’t, like me, you can still enjoy it. I am glad I saw this movie. I was not let down in any way. It was a good use of two hours. I hope a sequel is made, and based on the ending, there probably will be!” [sic]
One critic said on Rotten Tomatoes: “It will stress you out. It will mess you up. But you’re still going to love living through every last dismembered bit of World War Z.”

Another critic posted at the time: “As both thrilling spectacle and escapist summer entertainment, World War Z is enormously effective, with Brad Pitt at the center hopscotching the globe in search of the origin of a zombie apocalypse.”
A third also remarked: “Almost more action movie than zombie movie, World War Z is less about the zombies than it is about the effect the outbreak has on the world. And it works.”
