For most people, it’s probably unthinkable to listen to alternative versions of ABBA’s songs.

Their songs will forever be linked to the great voices of Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad.

But every now and then there are people who take timeless music to unimaginable heights.

That was certainly the case when I discovered the twin sisters, who turned ABBA’s “Chiquitita” into a fantastic country song.

Although it has been a long time since the great ABBA broke up, their music remains loved by young generations.

Even now I listen to their music almost daily and they are actually just as good as they were then.

Their songs are still relevant today and their immortal hits are I never tired.

Over the years, various artists and bands have attempted to create new versions of their songs.

People like Susan Boyle, for example, have ventured into “Thank you for the music”, and with success.

So when I saw that the twin sisters Katie & Aoife from Ireland were working on “Chiquitita” in the British version of “The Voice”, I became curious.

I listened to the original countless times, so when I found the video, I was really excited to see what they had done with the song.

And it became a completely different interpretation.

When the sisters start singing together, it suddenly becomes a country song, with two magical singing voices that sound wonderfully good together.

I can understand very well why the jury was so moved by their interpretation. I was too!
