Kelly Clarkson ended her talk show on a high note.
The singer wrapped up “The Kelly Clarkson Show” after seven seasons with the Aug. 31 episode, during which the “American Idol” alum covered the hit song “Golden” from “KPop Demon Hunters.” The pop hit was the most requested song for the show’s Kellyoke segment, in which she belts out popular covers.
Clarkson, joined by her house group My Band Y’all, took to the stage for the final-ever Kellyoke and hit the song’s super-high notes, which left celeb fans impressed and commenting on her post of the performance on Instagram.
Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote, “Kelly done healed the honmoon by herself,” referring to the magical barrier between humans and demons in “KPop Demon Hunters.”
Kristin Chenoweth commented, “🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶.”
Rita Ora wrote, “I mean literally blown away. She can sing absolutely anything!”
Jewel said, “Incredible. Your control and range are just so sick.”
Clarkson announced in February that she would be ending her talk show.
“This season will be my last hosting ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’” she wrote in a statement at the time. “Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives. This isn’t goodbye. I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there and you may catch me on ‘The Voice’ from time to time … you never know where I might show up next. But for now, I want to thank y’all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years.”
