Authorities are investigating a devastating tragedy after discovering 17-year-old twins Carlo and Melanie alongside their father inside an Orange County apartment

A Florida father and his 17-year-old twins were found dead inside their Orlando-area home after a neighbor became concerned when the family had not been seen for about a week. Investigators believe the father killed his children before taking his own life.

Deputies went to a home on the 1200 block of Courtney Chase Circle in the Hunter’s Creek area of Orange County on Wednesday, Sept. 30, after a neighbor requested a welfare check.

Inside, Carlo and Melanie were found dead in the living room with multiple stab wounds. Roa was found dead in the master bathroom, according to local reports citing the sheriff’s office.

“At this time, detectives believe Ivan murdered Carlo and Melanie and then committed suicide,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

Authorities have not established publicly when the deaths occurred, and they have not disclosed the circumstances of Roa’s death. The investigation remains ongoing.

The deaths came only months after the death of Roa’s wife and the twins’ mother in June, according to public records and her obituary. The family was originally from Venezuela, according to the obituary.

The tragedy has left neighbors and the wider community grieving.

Florida Rep. Rita Harris, who lives near the Courtney Chase Apartment Homes where the family lived, expressed her sympathy for those affected and also acknowledged the burden placed on the first responders and law enforcement officers who encountered the scene.

Carlo and Melanie were also students at Cypress Creek High School, according to local reporting. The school community has expressed grief following the deaths.

Father’s background and social media activity

Roa’s Facebook profile identified him as a realtor. Public records also show that he previously operated a construction business, which was dissolved on Sept. 25, according to the Orlando Sentinel as reported by multiple outlets.

His social media activity has also drawn attention since the deaths. Posts on his Facebook account included conspiracy theories and references to a supposed “new world order.”

In a December 2025 post, Roa wrote: “Introduce a little anarchy, alter the established order and everything turns into chaos. I am an agent of chaos,” apparently referencing a line from the 2008 film The Dark Knight.

There is no indication from authorities that these social media posts explain what happened, and investigators have not publicly released a motive.

For now, detectives are continuing to piece together the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Carlo and Melanie Montiel Infantino and their father. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has not released further details as the investigation continues.
