Father Makes Desperate Plea as Search for Missing 3-Year-Old Noah Woods Enters Second Night

The father of a missing three-year-old boy has issued an emotional plea for searchers not to give up as more than 1,000 volunteers joined the effort to find his son in Suffolk.

Noah Woods disappeared after becoming separated from his grandfather during a trip to a playground in Brantham on Tuesday afternoon. The toddler, who is mildly autistic, non-verbal and has partial hearing loss, was last captured on CCTV at the playground shortly before he vanished.

As the search stretched into another day without a confirmed breakthrough, Noah’s father, Rhys Woods, said he could not bear the thought of his son spending another night alone.

“I cannot go another night knowing he’s out there alone,” he wrote, urging volunteers not to give up. “He is out there somewhere.”

Noah had been at the playground with his grandfather when he ran into an alley at around 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The alley leads toward a new housing development and Decoy Pond, a nearby fishing lake. According to the report, the only sighting after Noah disappeared came from two fishermen who were said to have seen a child believed to be Noah later that evening.

A relative described how quickly everything unfolded, saying Noah’s grandfather had been telling him to stop before the toddler ran away.

CCTV released by Suffolk Constabulary shows Noah near a merry-go-round at 2:37 p.m., shortly before his disappearance.

Noah is described as having curly ginger hair. When he disappeared, he was wearing a white T-shirt featuring the TV character Bluey, shorts and black Vans trainers with white stripes.

More Than 1,000 People Join the Search

The disappearance triggered a huge response across the community.

Around 500 people reportedly joined the search overnight, while the number of volunteers involved by Wednesday had grown beyond 1,000. Some residents searched fields and surrounding areas late into the night before returning the following morning to continue.

Specialist police officers and dog units have been searching Brantham since Tuesday afternoon. Helicopters from the National Police Air Service and HM Coastguard have also assisted, alongside Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service and Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue. A boat has been deployed to search Decoy Pond.

Police have asked members of the public to stay away from the pond and railway line so specialist teams can search those areas safely and systematically.

Rhys said emergency services were confident that high-risk areas including Decoy Pond and the railway lines had been checked.

That possibility has led Noah’s family to believe the little boy may have travelled farther than initially expected.

“Knowing our boy, he has gone even further,” Rhys wrote as he asked volunteers who were able to do so to expand their search.

Police stressed that the disappearance continues to be treated as a missing-person investigation. Superintendent Tom Pearse said there was currently nothing indicating criminal involvement, although investigators were keeping an open mind about the circumstances.

For Noah’s family, however, the focus remains solely on bringing the three-year-old home.

As hundreds of strangers continue searching woodland, fields and surrounding streets, his father’s message has become the emotional heart of the effort: he does not want his little boy to spend another night out there alone.
