Baby Girl, 10 Months, Found Dead Strapped In Hot Car After She Was Allegedly Left There For Hours

A 10-month-old baby girl has died after she was allegedly left strapped into a car seat for around eight hours inside a vehicle on an extremely hot day in Kentucky.
Scottie Gwyn Crowell was discovered in the back of the vehicle after temperatures inside reportedly reached around 46C (115F).
According to reports, Scottie’s grandmother, Dr Stacey Fazenbaker, had agreed to collect the baby from her home and take her to daycare in Madisonville.
But when Scottie’s father arrived to pick her up at around 4pm on August 13, daycare staff reportedly told him that the baby had never been dropped off that morning.

The family then learned that Fazenbaker had gone directly to work at Owensboro Health Multicare, allegedly forgetting that Scottie was still inside the vehicle.
Madisonville Police Major Jason McKnight said Fazenbaker later ran outside with several co-workers after the discovery was made, but it was already too late.
Emergency responders, including police, medical personnel and firefighters, attempted lifesaving measures at the scene. Scottie was ultimately pronounced dead.
Police said Fazenbaker underwent testing for drugs and alcohol, although investigators do not currently expect those tests to return positive.
No charges have been filed at this stage, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Major McKnight said authorities are still working to establish exactly how the tragedy happened and indicated that charges could potentially be considered before a grand jury.
An autopsy has also been conducted to determine Scottie’s official cause of death, with results expected in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, heartbreaking tributes have been shared for the little girl, with family friends and members of the community describing Scottie as a “beautiful and precious angel” whose life was taken far too soon.
The investigation continues as Scottie’s loved ones try to come to terms with the devastating loss.
