Ella Langley’s song “Choosin’ Texas” is everywhere these days, including the World Cup!

Recently, the U.S. Men’s National Team used the record-breaking track to celebrate their win over Bosnia and Herzegovina to advance to the Round of 16.

Following the U.S.’ victory on Wednesday (July 1), the team loaded up on the bus to leave the stadium. That’s when Weston McKennie cranked up Langley’s song on a bluetooth speaker and hit record on his phone.

He not only filmed himself singing, but he also got Tyler Adams, Antonee Robinson and Christian Pulisic to join in.

Ella Langley Is Taking Over the World Cup

Of course, “Choosin’ Texas” has been a massive crossover hit for the country singer, and it has once again reclaimed its spot at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs chart, logging 11 weeks in the top position. This is the most ever for a female singer with a country hit.

The song’s lyrics have also found their way into the World Cup’s commentary as the U.K.’s Sam Matterface snuck in some of the catchy liners while covering a match. The moment came during England and Croatia’s game, when Marcus Rashford’s delivered the game-winning goal for England.

Country Music Is in the World Cup’s Spotlight

Country music has been at the forefront of the FIFA World Cup, with many visitors discovering the genre for the first time.

A German tourist named Freddy went viral for his excitement when he stumbled across Langley’s music on a local radio station. The news got to Langley, and she invited him to come to one of her shows and spend some time backstage.
