Father Accused of Pushing Bronx Mother and Baby From 15th-Floor Balcony Had Arrived With Flowers to Reconcile
A New York City father accused of pushing his estranged girlfriend and their five-month-old daughter from a 15th-floor balcony had reportedly arrived with flowers in an attempt to repair their troubled relationship, just hours before the devastating incident.
Angel Carrasco, 31, is being sought by police in connection with the death of 23-year-old Nathaly Ramirez, who fell from the balcony of a Bronx apartment building early Tuesday, October 6.
Ramirez was holding their infant daughter, Angel Novalty Carrasco-Ramirez, when the two fell, according to law enforcement sources. The young mother died, while her baby survived and was taken to Jacobi Hospital for emergency treatment.
Investigators believe the encounter began as an attempt at reconciliation following earlier domestic violence allegations involving the couple. But when the meeting reportedly went badly, Carrasco allegedly became enraged.
He is accused of pushing Ramirez from the balcony while she was holding their daughter before fleeing the building.
A bouquet of flowers, apparently brought as a peace offering, was reportedly left behind.
Flowers Meant to Repair a Relationship Become a Disturbing Detail

According to law enforcement sources, Carrasco had gone to see Ramirez hoping to persuade her to reconcile with him.
The couple’s relationship had already been marked by allegations of domestic violence, with Carrasco facing charges in two separate incidents earlier in the year.
The flowers he reportedly brought to the meeting have now become one of the most troubling details surrounding the case.
What began as an apparent effort to make amends allegedly escalated into a fatal confrontation.
Police believe Carrasco fled immediately afterward, and authorities subsequently launched a search for him.
On Wednesday, October 7, the NYPD released a wanted poster identifying Carrasco as a suspect in connection with the homicide.
Suspect Had Faced Previous Domestic Violence Charges
Court and law enforcement records described by sources indicate that Carrasco had previously been arrested following incidents involving Ramirez.
On January 5, 2026, he was charged with third-degree assault after allegedly slapping Ramirez and leaving her bruised.
The confrontation reportedly occurred after Ramirez questioned him about communicating with a former girlfriend.
Just three days later, Carrasco faced another domestic-related charge involving Ramirez.
In that incident, he was accused of entering her apartment without permission and waiting for her inside. Authorities charged him with burglary, although the case was subsequently sealed, leaving additional details unavailable.
Law enforcement sources also alleged that Carrasco had previously sent threatening messages to another former girlfriend.
His criminal history reportedly includes arrests in 2016 involving false impersonation and marijuana possession, along with other sealed cases.
The earlier allegations form part of the background investigators are examining as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding Ramirez’s death.

Police were called to the apartment building at 2550 Olinville Avenue in the Bronx at approximately 3:40 a.m. on Tuesday.
When officers arrived, they discovered Ramirez and her infant daughter after the fall from the building’s 15th floor.
A resident later described hearing a frightening exchange shortly before the incident.
Robin Mendzies, who lives in the building, said she heard a man’s voice shouting the word “Jump.”
Moments later, she recalled hearing a loud impact followed by a woman crying out.
According to Mendzies, the woman appeared to be pleading for something not to happen.
The witness said the sounds left her wondering whether she had heard Ramirez’s final moments.
Her account has added another disturbing dimension to the investigation, although authorities have not publicly established the precise sequence of events inside the apartment.
Five-Month-Old Daughter Survives as Mother Dies
Ramirez was pronounced dead at Jacobi Hospital following the fall.
Her five-month-old daughter, Angel Novalty Carrasco-Ramirez, survived and remained hospitalized in stable condition, according to law enforcement sources.
Initial reports described the baby’s injuries as critical.
The infant’s survival has become an especially emotional part of a case that has devastated those who knew Ramirez.
Photographs taken outside the apartment building showed a diaper and items of baby clothing near the police tape surrounding the scene.
The images offered a heartbreaking reminder of how young the surviving child was.
Authorities have identified Carrasco as the baby’s father.
Friends Remember a Mother Who Protected Her Daughter
As investigators continued searching for Carrasco, mourners began gathering outside the Bronx apartment building.
By Wednesday, a memorial had formed near the entrance, featuring candles in white, blue, pink and yellow, alongside bouquets of roses and carnations.
A photograph of Ramirez was placed among the tributes.
Those who knew the young mother remembered her devotion to her daughter.
Dominique Rosado, a friend from Ramirez’s high school years, said she believed Ramirez had been trying to protect her child during the final moments of her life.
“In the last moment of her life she was protecting her daughter,” Rosado said.
“That’s what it means to be a mother. She was a good mother.”
Her words reflected the grief surrounding a tragedy that left a young child hospitalized and a family mourning the loss of a 23-year-old mother.
Police Continue Search for Angel Carrasco
As of Wednesday, October 7, Carrasco remained wanted in connection with Ramirez’s death.
The NYPD’s release of his photograph marked a public step in the effort to locate him.
Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances of the fatal fall, including the couple’s history and the reported attempt at reconciliation immediately before the incident.
The allegations against Carrasco have not been established in court, and he remains a suspect.
For Ramirez’s loved ones, the investigation has brought painful attention to the reported flowers, the previous domestic violence allegations and the final moments described by a neighbor.
What was allegedly intended to be a meeting to repair a relationship ended with a young mother dead and her infant daughter fighting to recover.
As police continue their search, friends and family are left remembering Ramirez as a devoted mother whose final moments, they believe, were spent trying to protect her baby.
