Rod Stewart was unable to perform at his most recent tour date.
The “Forever Young” hitmaker was scheduled to perform at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati on Sunday, Aug. 9, but was forced to postpone at the last minute due to a “minor medical procedure.”
“Due to an unforeseen but minor medical procedure that required prompt attention, Rod Stewart’s performance tonight in Cincinnati at Riverbend Music Center has been POSTPONED,” the venue shared in a statement on its website.
They noted that the show is currently being rescheduled with additional information to share on Tuesday, Aug. 11.
“All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled date,” the statement continued. “Rod is expected to make a quick recovery and looks forward to returning to Cincinnati.”
Stewart later canceled his Cleveland show, scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 11. “🚨CANCELLED 🚨 Following a period of monitoring, doctors have advised Rod Stewart to rest for at least 48 hours. As a result, his performance tomorrow night, August 11, 2026 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland has been cancelled,” Rocket Arena posted to their Instagram account Monday evening.
“Rod is disappointed to miss the show and appreciates everyone’s understanding. He looks forward to returning to the stage soon. Refunds are available at point of purchase.”

PEOPLE has reached out to reps for Stewart for comment.
On July 29, Stewart paused mid-show to redo a pitchy note while singing his popular song “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You” at a charity event in the Hamptons for TeachRock, the national education nonprofit founded by Steven Van Zandt, which PEOPLE attended.
He had been singing the line “You fill my heart with gladness” from the 1991 hit at the Southampton home of philanthropists Bob and Lauren Day Roberts, but before he could finish the next lyric, “Take away all my sadness,” his voice croaked.
Stewart then paused and joked, “Let’s do that again,” before he sang “my” one more time, drawing sweeping applause from the audience.
Prior to that show, Stewart, who has a history of thyroid cancer surgery, canceled and postponed concert stops in June following a diagnosis of acute upper respiratory infection, laryngitis and vocal fold strain.

Stewart previously had to pause his concert on June 19 to use an oxygen tank after nearly fainting on stage.
At the time, TMZ reported that he was performing at Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre in West Valley City, Utah and appeared unwell and doubling over in pain before using an oxygen tank to assist his breathing backstage.
Per footage obtained by the outlet, Stewart could be seen leaning over before staff brought him an oxygen tank.
Later, the “Maggie May” performer told the crowd that he almost fainted while sharing a few lighthearted jokes.
He ultimately finished the show sitting in a chair.
At the time, reps for Stewart did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Stewart, who is in the midst of his One Last Time Tour, is currently scheduled to perform on Tuesday, Aug. 11 at the Rocket Arena in Cleveland.
