Prince William Reportedly Pushing to Block Harry and Meghan’s Royal Standing: Claims He Urges King Charles to Strip Sussex Titles

Tensions surrounding Prince William and Prince Harry have escalated into renewed public debate following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s permanent relocation back to the UK last month. Speaking on the Daily Expresso panel, Daily Express commentators JJ Anisiobi and Mark Dolan reported that the Prince of Wales is advocating an uncompromising stance against Harry and Meghan as they settle into their private Cotswolds home.

According to the journalists, William played an instrumental role in prompting an official Palace communication clarifying that the Sussexes remain non-working royals.

Anisiobi claimed that William is determined to thwart any possibility of the couple regaining formal institutional footing, treating the clarification as an important constitutional boundary.

Mark Dolan further alleged that William’s ultimate objective includes petitioning King Charles III to strip the couple of their peerage titles entirely:

“William is not going to stop pushing until the King agrees to take away their titles. As long as they are Duke and Duchess of Sussex, then they can pretend to be royal, and that’s a problem for the family and it’s a problem for the monarchy.”

Dolan suggested that while repeatedly pressing the issue has generated friction between the King and his heir, William views the matter not as a mere fraternal dispute, but as an existential necessity to protect the future of the Crown. Driven by an acute sense of public duty, the heir apparent is said to believe that permitting commercial or independent public activities under official royal titles compromises the institution.
