BBC’s Casualty delivers a huge cliffhanger tonight.

Dylan Keogh’s fate remains uncertain during a dramatic episode, which is scheduled to broadcast on Saturday, July 11 but is now available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

In previous scenes, Dylan gave a keynote address at a prominent event, with his son Matty Linlaker arriving to offer his support after Stevie Nash successfully convinced him to attend.

Nevertheless, Matty was left shocked when he spotted his father, a recovering alcoholic, downing a glass of champagne, causing him to leave the venue immediately.

In the latest episode, it becomes apparent that Dylan’s relapse descended into a full-scale drinking session that lasted throughout the night. He regains consciousness on the toilet floor of the hotel where the event occurred, awakened by a telephone call from Rash requesting his advice on a patient, reports the Mirror.

Feeling unwell, Dylan rushes to the hospital to start his shift, only to be confronted straight away by Matty, who discloses he saw his father drinking the night before.

Matty is profoundly concerned, though Dylan maintains it was merely a one-time lapse. Dylan continues to struggle at work, however.

While performing a procedure on a patient, he experiences crippling flashbacks from his evening of excessive drinking, and is eventually compelled to leave resus to gather himself, reports Digital Spy. Matty finds his father in the bathroom and provides him with painkillers, while Dylan reveals his own father’s battle with alcohol dependency.

However, when Matty attempts to offer assistance, Dylan pushes him away and insists his son leave him alone.

While treating a teenage patient with a strained parental relationship, Dylan experiences a moment of reflection – yet he seems convinced it’s too late to repair his damaged relationship with Matty.

When Flynn subsequently mentions Dylan’s early departure and unusual demeanour, alarm bells ring for Matty. He feels obliged to inform Stevie that Dylan had been drinking the previous evening, prompting her to go searching for him – though Matty chooses not to accompany her.

Stevie heads to Dylan’s houseboat, where a neighbour reveals he departed hastily. As Stevie attempts to contact her friend by telephone, viewers glimpse Dylan driving recklessly. Where exactly is he going, and might he be in grave danger?
