Netflix viewers looking for their next binge-watch obsession are being pointed toward a new mystery thriller that is already drawing comparisons to one of television’s biggest recent hits. What begins with a group of seemingly ordinary guests quickly spirals into a tense web of secrets, suspicion and shocking revelations that leave viewers questioning everyone involved.

Netflix’s brand new mystery thriller sounds like the perfect addition to your weekend watchlist.

All eight episodes of brand new series Oasis are now available to binge watch. Described as a ‘nightmare vacation’ thriller, the Spanish drama dives into a luxury holiday that descends into chaos after a mysterious disappearance.

A synopsis teases: “Oasis is the most luxurious holiday resort in the country — a paradise reserved for the wealthiest families, featuring private beaches, VIP facilities, and impenetrable security.

“The perfect place to spend the best summer of your life. But everything falls apart when the police storm the resort to investigate a mysterious disappearance. In such an exclusive place, everyone is a suspect — and no one can leave until the culprit is found.”

The series was brought to life by Spanish producer Ramón Campos, whose other works include fellow Netflix crime drama A Widow’s Game

Here, he works alongside actors Ana Garcés (La Promesa), Tomy Aguilera (Welcome to Eden), and Victoria Kantch (Por tus muertos), who play the guests and staff of the exclusive Oasis resort.

Others on the cast include Berta Castañé (Sigue mi voz), Manel Duarte, Ada Molina, Alex Mola (La Calima), Cande Méndez, Laura Simón (Mar Afuera), Jan Buxaderas (Todos los lados de la cama), Amanda Palomino (Gastronauts), and Blas Polidori (Society of the Snow).

While international audiences may not instantly recognise these actors, many are convinced the show’s storyline sounds familiar.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, fans have drawn comparisons between the new release and HBO’s The White Lotus. As you may remember, the twisted drama centred around murder mysteries that unfolded at luxury hotel resorts.

One fan commented: “It’s basically The White Lotus but with all young people, or does it just seem that way to me?”

Someone else joked: “Close enough, welcome back The White Lotus.” While others have shared their excitement to tune into the fresh series. “A SUMMER MURDER MYSTERY LET’S GOOOOOO,” said one.

A second fan added: “I will never get tired of a simple disappearance on an island mystery.”
