Sunday’s 92 to 85 defeat marked the second time in three games that Chicago took down the Sparks. 2024 WNBA All-Star forward Angel Reese led the way for the Sky once again with 24 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists.

She also pitched in two blocks and a steal, and Reese shot 10-for-19 from the floor. Her performance against Los Angeles was historic, as she moved into 10th all-time in franchise history for total rebounds (via Chicago Sky).

Chicago was missing 2024 All-Rookie center Kamilla Cardoso for the second straight game on Sunday. She temporarily stepped away from the team last week to play for her home country, Brazil, at the FIBA Americup tournament.

After the victory against Los Angeles, a reporter asked Reese at the press conference if she tried to take advantage of the increased touches she got as a result of Cardoso’s absence.

“Yeah, when Milla’s not here, I try to take advantage of it as much as I can because she’s a great post player and we let her work when she works,” Reese said.

Cardoso was selected four picks before Reese in the first round of the 2024 WNBA Draft. Last season, she averaged 9.8 points and 7.9 rebounds per game on 52.1% shooting.

Her production has increased to 12.7 points per contest on 56.1% shooting in 2025. She also made her first career three-pointer in last Tuesday’s win over the Sparks.

The Sky do not play again until Sunday against the 14-2 Minnesota Lynx. Cardoso is expected to be back from Americup for the matchup, which will take place at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
