It was one of the best-selling books of all time before it was adapted to screen for the BBC, and fans could finally see some of their favourite characters brought to life in a mystery like no other.
The book was first released in 1939 by author Agatha Christie and went on to become the world’s best-selling mystery novel and one of the biggest books of all time. Now, the series lies in its wake, with the hope of doing the beloved book justice, and according to these reviews, it’s done the job.

And Then There Were None was released as a BBC series back in 2015, retelling the well-known story across three long and captivating episodes. Its standalone season allows for the perfect binge-watch and has left a serious impact on viewers and fans of Christie’s work.
One fan took to Rotten Tomatoes to share their review, writing: “Exceptional adaptation of Christie’s classic, faithful to the novel’s original ending, with minimal alterations. It’s set on a small island off of the coast of Devon
The series follows the ultimate murder mystery, when eight people, all strangers, receive an invite to an isolated island off the coast of Devon. When they arrive, they realise their hosts, who sent the invite, are absent, and instead are welcomed by two caretakers, Thomas and Ethel Rogers.
After their sit-down meal, a gramophone recording of an anonymous voice plays and accuses everyone at the table of committing a murder. Soon enough, one of the guests is poisoned, and one by one as people begin to drop off, they have to figure out who is at the centre of all of this unusual chaos.

What helps to drive the show is its cast made up of familiar faces and British acting legends. Playing Philip Lombard is Aidan Turner, alongside Charles Dance as Justice Lawrence John Wargrave, Douglas Booth as Anthony James Marston and Anna Maxwell Martin as Ethel Rogers – to name a few.
