“PEOPLE COULDN’T STOP STARING AT HER FACE.” 😳👀 — MEGHAN’S UNUSUAL EXPRESSION IN A NEW PHOTO HAS SPARKED A FRESH WAVE OF REACTION Meghan Markle may have intended to share a lighthearted moment with friends, but it was her expression in the photo that quickly became the real story. As the image spread online, countless viewers focused less on the caption and more on what they described as a strangely intense smile and an awkward, almost theatrical look directed at the camera.

Meghan just tried to show how funny she is – but it’s blown up in her face

Meghan tried to land a light joke for once, but Chris Riches says the fallout has landed on someone who never asked to be in the spotlight.

Whenever Meghan Markle’s tried clowning around, she ended up with a custard pie in the face – now her latest attempt at humour has bombed again. When Meghan bantered with guests on her ‘With Love, Meghan’ Netflix show it was cringeworthy ‘hide behind the sofa a peek through your hands’ time.

During a cooking session with friends Abigail Spencer and Kelly Zafjen, she pulled out a fish bone, waving it in the air, and mimicked Fred Flintstone’s signature “yabadabadoo”. Cue silence, tumbleweed and the distant sound of a church bell tolling.

Prince Harry’s not much better at humour, if some of his late-night talk show performances are anything to go by.

On the ‘Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ last December, Harry tried to crack a joke about President Trump, and the audience even booed him. That takes some doing with Colbert’s leftie crowd.

During his awkward appearance, he first gate-crashed Colbert’s starting-the-show monologue at the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York by saying to the camera: “I thought this was the audition for the Gingerbread Prince saves Christmas in Nebraska?”

Errr ….no.

Then Harry ‘joked’ that he wanted to go into acting because he knew how “obsessed” Americans were with Christmas movies and royalty.

Colbert dismissed the claims, which set the Duke of Sussex up for the scripted response: “Really? I heard you elected a king.” That’s when the audience groaned – and then some booed.

Now, Meghan has opted for a new comedy try-out – this time on Instagram.

The Duchess of Sussex uploaded a new story on her official Instagram account from an outing with her close friend Kelly McKee Zajfen, where she is seen holding her ginger-haired three-month-old baby Jack Oliver Zajfen.

Princess Lilibet

Kissing his head, she captioned it: “We all know I love a redhead.

“And let me stop you before they start, no it’s not his baby [laughing face emoji].”

Groan! But I know one thing that is definitely not funny.

For years, Harry and Meghan have ring-fenced their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, and have been obsessed with their privacy by not showing their faces.

That’s absolutely fair enough by the way, and they have only just started to offer us peeks because they need to start marketing them as royals and Sussexes (it’s about ‘the brand’ you see).

But here we have Meghan posting pictures of her friend’s baby, showing little Jack’s face to the world and then teasing that he could be a secret child of her husband Harry, because of his red hair.

That joke will no doubt follow poor young Jack around everywhere when he grows up. What about Jack’s right to privacy then?

So, Meghan’s a comedian? Don’t make me laugh.
