England player Elliot Anderson has shared a touching tribute to his mother following her tragic passing. In a deeply personal post, he honored her memory by calling her “the most special person,” expressing his profound grief over the loss.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST star Elliot Anderson posted an emotional tribute to his mother Helen after her heartbreaking death.

Anderson, 23, didn’t link up with the rest of the Forest squad on Thursday for the Europa League second-leg quarter-final against Porto so he could be with his grieving family.

And the England star today dedicated a moving post on Instagram to “the most special person”.

Anderson shared a series of happy family pictures with his mother, showing his favourite memories as he grew from a boy to a man starring in the Premier League.

Alongside the pictures, Anderson wrote: “Mum, you are the most special person I could of ever met. Laughing, smiling and dancing through every day giving us all such joy and happiness.

“You fought so hard for the past year with huge strength and resilience. The determination you shown made me so unbelievably proud. I am forever grateful for everything you done for our family.

“You gave your sons the most amazing life and we were ready to pay it all back. All we wanted to do was make you proud. I know you are looking down on us and watching everything we do.

“We are all together. You are my biggest motivation. Rest in peace mum. Love you so much.”

Helen was one of Elliot’s strongest cheerleaders, watching him develop from an academy prospect at Newcastle to one of the Premier League’s most sought-after stars after switching to Forest.

Speaking about her son making his senior debut for the Magpies – at age 18 – in an FA Cup clash against Arsenal in 2021, Helen told The Mail: “I started crying.

“We have never missed any of Elliot’s games. To see him appear on the TV like that, it was surreal.”

Helen also revealed that the family stayed up to watch Match of the Day together that evening.

She added: “It was so special, you just feel immense pride and happiness.”

Anderson’s brother and Love Island alum Wil also shared a touching tribute for their mum on social media.

He posted: “I LOVE YOU MUM.

“Words can’t describe this feeling. You didn’t deserve this. All I ever wanted was to make you proud. You were my biggest supporter and my strongest motivation.

“You gave everything for our family and we were just ready to return the favour. You fought the toughest fight of them all and not once did it show, bowing out with grace surrounded by your boys.”

Anderson’s Forest team-mates paid tribute to him and Helen during their 1-0 victory over Porto that sealed their place in the semi-finals of a European competition for the first time since 1984.

After Morgan Gibbs-White’s winner, the team held up the England international’s No8 shirt with a special message.

It read: “Family first. We are all with you.”
