On Friday, Oct. 9, the Duke of Sussex, 42, was photographed at the Gallagher Prem match between Leicester and Gloucester at Mattioli Woods Welford Road Stadium in Leicester, England. He was joined by his cousin George Mccorquodale, who is the son of his mother, Princess Diana’s sister, Sarah McCorquodale.

Prince Harry has remained close to the Spencer side of the family throughout the years, with George among those who’ve supported him at major UK events. Back in 2018, the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle, attended George’s sister, Celia McCorquodale, wedding.

The couple reunited with members on the Spencer side of his family, including cousins, while visiting Althorp in July.

When Prince Harry briefly appeared on the big screen at the rugby ground on Friday, some fans could be heard booing.

The Duke of Sussex remained focused on the field while seated in the stands, and spent his time cheering during the match, also enjoying a pint as he watched Leicester win 38-31.

Harry, who played competitive rugby union during his school years at Eton College, as well as casually at events like his Invictus Games, previously went viral for sharing how dedicated he can be to the sport.

“I’m like a Labrador with a tennis ball,” Harry told players during a February 2018 training session. “As soon as I see a rugby ball…”

“Everybody of any size, any background, can get together, beat each other up on the pitch — within the rules of the game of course — and get together afterwards,” he added of why he loves rugby.

His wife Meghan Markle, who was spotted dining with Malala Yousafzai in London on Wednesday, Oct. 7, was not present for Friday’s rugby match.

Harry and the Suits alum, 45, recently returned to the U.K. with their two children Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.

Though both have been seen at separate events this week, Harry has spoken openly about how important spending time with Meghan and their children is for him.

“The biggest factor for me is the energy and the joy and happiness that I get being with my family, especially our kids, and the joy and happiness I get by being on the ground for my work,” he said in a new MasterClass titled Redefining Grief: Building Resilience Through Loss.

“And the key to finding the joy and happiness balance is no more than 10 days away from my wife and kids,” he said.

“This is balancing my work and the purpose behind that, as well as being a dad and a husband, and the sort of multi-identity elements coming together,” Harry continued.

During the early days of their relationship, Harry lived in London while she was based in Toronto for work, making them a long-distance couple.

At the time, they enforced a strict two-week rule between them to ensure they didn’t go more than 14 days without seeing each other.

They disclosed the detail in their 2022 Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, giving fans a glimpse into how they made their romance work even though they were both living on opposite sides of the Atlantic.
