JOHN MCCAIN’S DAUGHTER MEGHAN FACES BACKLASH AFTER CALLING A MIDTERM ELECTION CANDIDATE A NEPO SISTER — WITH CRITICS TURNING HER OWN FAMILY CONNECTIONS INTO THE CENTRE OF THE CONTROVERSY! Meghan McCain sparked criticism after using the label to target a candidate in a closely watched election race. Her remarks quickly drew attention to her own public profile as the daughter of the late Republican senator and former presidential nominee John McCain. The dispute has since shifted beyond the candidate herself, with critics questioning whether Meghan’s choice of words created an uncomfortable double standard. The responses to her remarks have become a story of their own.

“I’M A NEPO BABY – JESUS CHRIST ITS IN MY BIO!” the former “View” cohost later posted on X.

Meghan McCain, daughter of the late Sen. John McCain, took heat online after calling out a key candidate in the midterm elections race over the politician’s familial ties.

The former View cohost and controversial conservative star drew the internet’s ire Tuesday night, as she live-posted about the election results on her X account.

“Regardless of who wins tonight Darline Graham never had any business running for Senate,” McCain said of the Republican incumbent — and sister of late Sen. Lindsey Graham — in South Carolina, who lost her Senate seat to Democrat Annie Andrews.

McCain added: “Nepo baby isn’t something that’s popular anywhere, let alone nepo sister.”

Popular social media personality Matt Bernstein quote-replied to McCain’s message, writing, “now meghan” in a post that has, at press time, over 300,000 views on X.

When another user replied to the message, “Well….this is awkward,” McCain clapped back, telling the commenter: “As a nepo baby I’m an expert on all nepo baby matters, thank you.”

Still, more detractors sounded off on McCain’s initial post, as users took issue with the daughter of a former Republican presidential nominee calling out suspected nepotism in American politics.

“I’M A NEPO BABY – JESUS CHRIST ITS IN MY BIO!” McCain snapped after one user summarized her first post as a “Pot meet kettle” moment.

Despite leaving The View in 2021, McCain clapped back in 2023 after current cohost Ana Navarro, also a Republican, suggested on the air (within a larger discussion about the legal woes of Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden) that some ex-View panelists have also attempted to “influence-peddle” on their famous last names. Navarro did not name anyone outright, but many interpreted the remark as a reference to both McCain and fellow former cohost Abby Huntsman, who both came from political families via McCain’s aforementioned father and Huntsman’s dad, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr.

As for the 2026 midterm elections, McCain spent other portions of the evening lambasting Republicans for a dreadful performance during the midterm elections, which saw Democrats regain control of the House and Senate as well as flipping key seats in Texas, Ohio, and more.

“One thing my family has always taught me is to be gracious in defeat. Congratulations to our Democrat friends on a hard fought battle. Enjoy the victory,” McCain wrote. “I genuinely hope both sides can work together for the good of the country. It’s time for some true soul searching, republicans.”

The message came moments before she posted, “Gonna try to bunker down and prepare myself for Woke 3,” and earlier called the results a “F—ing bloodbath” for Republicans.
