Strictly star Amber Davies shows off transformation for new job

Amber Davies has been spotted looking remarkably different as she gears up for her next venture, following her recent appearance on Strictly Come Dancing. The actress and West End sensation had an unexpected journey on the BBC One dance show, joining the 2025 series just a day before it kicked off in September, despite not originally being due to participate.

She was paired with professional dancer Nikita Kuzmin after his intended partner, Love Island winner Dani Dyer, suffered an ankle fracture during rehearsals for their debut live performance. This followed their initial appearance in the pre-recorded launch show earlier in September.

Amber and Nikita’s first performance was just hours after their partnership was announced, and they subsequently made it all the way to the 2025 series finale.

There, they competed against fellow finalists Karen Carney and Carlos Gu, and George Clarke and Alexis Warr for the coveted Glitterball trophy.

However, it was ex-Lioness Karen and her professional partner Carlos who were crowned champions following the public vote.

This marked the end of a sparkling yet emotional evening in the ballroom, as the series finale also signalled the final time Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman would host the beloved show.

The Christmas celebrations swiftly passed and with a New Year now in motion, Amber is already busily preparing for her upcoming role.

Prior to her Strictly appearance, it was revealed that the 27 year old performed from North Wales would be taking on the leading role of Elle Woods in the fresh touring production of Legally Blonde The Musical, which launches in February and travels throughout the UK and Ireland.

Legally Blonde will be heading to the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff later this year. You can watch Amber play Elle Woods from June 16 to 20.

Last Sunday (January 4), Amber shared a series of photographs on Instagram which were captured during her promotional shoot for her forthcoming major theatre project last year.

Accompanying the post, she said: “and just like that a new chapter starts… Tour life and rehearsals begin and it’s time to study hard for Harvard Law. Hopefully see you all at a theatre near you in 2026.”

Now, Amber has offered a new glimpse at herself swapping her brunette locks for blonde wigs as she gets ready to bring Elle across the nation. She posed for a selfie wearing the fair-haired wig, before sharing a follow-up post on her Instagram Story showing the inside of her notepad.

“Mems,” she captioned alongside a tearful emoji, with her jottings detailing her dances from Strictly. She continued, “Notepad is back and ready to go.”

This follows Amber being spotted departing home to spend the coming weeks in rehearsals before opening night. Beside a video of her video-calling her boyfriend, fellow theatre performer Ben Joyce, Amber commented: “and that kind of life begins @benj0yce.”

He also posted a video of Amber departing from home, and as she waved goodbye to the camera, he commented: “And off she goes to Leicester to study law or something idk?” He further added: “So long Elle [crying emoji].”
