More than £100,000 has been raised for the grieving family of three-year-old Noah Woods after the toddler was tragically found dead in a pond following a major search.

Noah disappeared after becoming separated from a relative while visiting a playground in Brantham, Suffolk, on Tuesday afternoon, according to Suffolk Police.

His disappearance prompted an enormous search operation, with around 1,300 members of the public joining emergency services and volunteers in the effort to find him.

Noah was non-verbal, partially deaf and had been undergoing an assessment for autism, police said.

On Wednesday afternoon, Metropolitan Police divers recovered the body of a child from Decoy Pond, a lake known locally by that name.

Suffolk Police later confirmed that the body had been formally identified as Noah, subject to confirmation through formal inquest proceedings.

Police said his death was not being treated as suspicious, although a number of inquiries remained ongoing before a file could be submitted to the coroner.

More than 6,300 people donate to fundraiser

A fundraising campaign set up by the Good Dads Club, a community of fathers based in Colchester, Essex, quickly drew support from thousands of people.

By Sunday evening, more than £105,000 had been donated by over 6,300 supporters through the JustGiving campaign.

Organisers said every penny raised would go towards supporting Noah’s family as they deal with the devastating loss.

The fundraising page said the money would help with the family’s expenses, including everyday bills and allowing them to take time away from work to grieve without the additional pressure of financial worries.

The organisers urged people to donate whatever they could and share the appeal to show Noah’s loved ones that they were not facing the tragedy alone.

The campaign has continued to attract donations following the confirmation of Noah’s death.

Noah’s father pays heartbreaking tribute

Noah’s father, Rhys Woods, paid tribute to his son in a message shared with a local community Facebook group on Thursday.

He described the three-year-old as a loving and innocent child and said the family was struggling to put their grief into words.

“There are no words to describe the pain of this loss, we are all absolutely heartbroken,” he wrote.

“Noah was the sweetest and most innocent little boy, with nothing but love to give, and we are going to miss him so very much.”

His tribute came as the community continued to mourn the toddler following the extensive search that had taken place across Brantham.

Suffolk Police said the child’s body had been formally identified as Noah Woods, aged three and from Brantham, while stressing that confirmation would form part of the formal inquest process.

The force reiterated that his death was not being treated as suspicious but said officers still had several inquiries to complete before submitting a report to the coroner.

Meanwhile, the fundraising campaign has provided practical support for Noah’s family during an unimaginably difficult period, with more than £100,000 already donated by members of the public.
