The talented group helped close out Round 7 of Auditions in style with a captivating performance!
One of the final Auditions of America’s Got Talent Season 21 made the most of their opportunity on stage, and delivered an unforgettable performance that was equal parts joyful and innovative.
From the moment they arrived on stage, Los Servidores — a mariachi band comprised entirely of Los Angeles police officers — won over the hearts of not only the fans, but Judges Simon Cowell, Sofía Vergara, Mel B, and Simon Cowell as well. Round 7 of the AGT Auditions were coming to a close, but nobody could’ve predicted what Los Servidores would perform.
As it turns out, the group unveiled a Spanish-language version of “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina & The Waves. Although the iconic track was first released in 1985, Los Servidores managed to make it feel brand-new thanks to their creative mariachi stylings — and the stunning vocals of their lead singer, Office Reza.

The group is known throughout Southern California, and seeing as how America’s Got Talent is filmed there, it came as no surprise that Los Servidores’ performance resonated with everyone attending the episode in person.
The original version of “Walking on Sunshine” is a classic — a recognizable sing-a-long that millions of music fans know by heart — but the mariachi spin Los Servidores put on it gave off such feel-good vibes!
The performance went off without a hitch, ending in a triumphant final note that Officer Reza held with precision. Nearly the entire room jumped to their feet and showered Los Servidores with a well-earned standing ovation. The song lasted only about 90 seconds, but those 90 seconds were simply mesmerizing.
Mel B was the first Judge to give her thoughts after the performance ended.
“At first, when you started, I was like, ‘What are they saying?’ And then I recognized the song … and what I like is that you took the song and made it mariachi,” she said. “I’ve never heard that before. I liked that a lot.”
Vergara felt the same, proclaiming, “I loved it, it was amazing,” and mentioned the lack of mariachi acts historically on the show.
By that point, it was clear that Los Servidores would be advancing to the Live Shows, and sure enough, each Judge gave the group a yes.
Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel would watch a police drama starring Los Servidores
While Los Servidores were celebrating on stage after receiving unanimous yes’s from the Judges, cameras captured a hilarious candid moment between Cowell and Manel that very well could be the beginnings of an all-new Dick Wolf procedural.
“You know how many police dramas they make, and they’re all pretty much the same?” Cowell asked. “This could be better, because they’re singing.”
And that’s when Mandel came up with the name of the show on the spot. “Murder and Mariachi,” he said. “Tonight at nine.”
Cowell had heard enough — Mandel sold him on this new spin on police drama series. “I love it,” he said. “I’d watch that.”
