Nikki Glaser tipped her hat to Rob Reiner before closing out the Golden Globes 2026.

After “Hamnet” was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture — Drama at the end of the night, Glaser took to the Beverly Hilton stage wearing a “Spinal Tap” hat in a sweet nod to the late filmmaker’s directorial debut.

“Well that’s our show. This one went to 11,” the comedian said in reference to one of the 1984 rockumentary’s most iconic lines. “Thank you guys for an amazing night.”

“I hope we found the line between clever and stupid,” Glaser added, referencing yet another famous “Spinal Tap” line. “A good Chalamet to you, goodnight!”

Reiner, who was 78, and his wife Michele, who was 70, were tragically stabbed to death at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Dec. 14, 2025.

The couple’s 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, was later taken into custody and charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with his parents’ shocking deaths.

Because the Golden Globes doesn’t traditionally have an In Memoriam segment to pay tribute to the celebrities we’ve lost over the year, Glaser opened up about her plan to still honor the “Stand By Me” and “When Harry Met Sally” director ahead of Sunday night’s award show.

“There’s not a whole section set aside to honor everyone we’ve lost,” the Golden Globes 2026 host told USA Today on Jan. 8. “But I have something planned that I’m going to do in my own way to just acknowledge [Reiner] and celebrate him in my own way.”

“I knew [Reiner], but not that well,” Glaser continued. “I’m not going to linger on it too much because I think that’s what we’ve been doing for the past few weeks. But obviously, I thought if something happened to me and Rob Reiner was hosting a show, given our relationship, how would I want him to handle it?”

The comedian, who acknowledged that the “Princess Bride” filmmaker’s death was a “delicate” matter, added that she “landed on something that I feel he would do for me, too.”
