Patrick Clancy’s wife, Dr. Rachel Danis, is sharing new details about the unlikely encounter that brought them together — a relationship that later became the subject of intense public attention as Lindsay Clancy’s murder case dominated headlines.

Danis, 37, an infertility specialist, appeared alongside Patrick in a preview of an upcoming “60 Minutes” interview. The appearance marks Patrick’s first interview since Lindsay’s trial ended in a mistrial earlier this month.

Danis described their first meeting in remarkably ordinary terms.

“I was just a girl that met a guy running in Central Park on a really cold Saturday,” she said, pushing back against the criticism their relationship has attracted online.

“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that,” she added.

Patrick had moved to Manhattan following the January 2023 deaths of his three children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months — at the family’s Massachusetts home.

It was after that move that he crossed paths with Danis, a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist working in New York City.

Their relationship gradually became more visible. Photos shared online showed the couple attending the same Barry’s workout class and later smiling together at the New York City Marathon in November 2025.

From Central Park Meeting to Marriage

Patrick and Danis eventually married in April in an intimate ceremony at the Ladies Pavilion in Central Park — returning to the same park where their story had begun.

The ceremony was followed by a gathering with family and friends at a nearby Sarabeth’s restaurant.

But their marriage also placed Danis in the middle of a case that had already attracted enormous public attention.

“I was just a girl that met a guy running in Central Park on a really cold Saturday,” she said, dismissing criticism they’ve received for their marriage from online trolls and unhinged influencers.

In the interview preview, she addressed the reaction surrounding their relationship and suggested the public narrative had become disconnected from the couple’s actual experience.

“I don’t understand how the story’s been so twisted,” Danis said.

She also defended Patrick, describing him as “the most selfless father and supportive partner.”

The interview arrives shortly after Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial ended without a verdict.

On Sept. 4, Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial after the 12-member jury failed to reach a unanimous decision following seven days of deliberations.

Eleven jurors ultimately supported a finding of not guilty by reason of insanity, accepting the defense argument that Lindsay suffered from severe postpartum psychosis. One juror disagreed and believed she was guilty.

The deadlock remained after three notes were sent to the judge indicating the jury had reached an impasse, ultimately bringing the trial to an end without a unanimous verdict.

Against that backdrop, Patrick and Danis are now preparing to speak publicly together about their relationship and the scrutiny surrounding it.

What began, according to Danis, as nothing more extraordinary than two people crossing paths while running on a freezing Saturday in Central Park eventually became a relationship watched and debated by people far beyond their private lives.
