Intoxicated Passenger Accused of Lewd Mid-Flight Incident on American Airlines Trip to Miami

A 46-year-old Maryland woman is accused of engaging in inappropriate sexual behavior aboard an American Airlines flight after allegedly removing her pants shortly after the plane departed Baltimore for Miami.
Katy Inzer was traveling on an evening flight on September 11 when another passenger alerted a flight attendant to what was happening, according to an incident report filed by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
The passenger alleged that Inzer had removed her pants and begun touching herself while making inappropriate sounds.
Flight Attendant Intervenes
After being approached by a crew member, Inzer allegedly stopped the behavior, got dressed and then fell asleep for the remainder of the flight, according to the report.
The flight continued to Florida, where law enforcement officers met Inzer after arrival.
Authorities said officers noticed signs suggesting she had been drinking, including bloodshot eyes and a strong smell of alcohol.
When questioned about what had allegedly occurred in the air, Inzer reportedly said she did not remember the incident and recalled falling asleep.
Case Referred to Federal Authorities

Inzer, described as a 46-year-old bartender from Maryland, was detained following the flight.
Neither she nor sheriff’s officials had immediately responded to requests for additional comment cited in the original report.
The case was subsequently referred to the FBI because questions remained over which authority had jurisdiction over the alleged conduct aboard the aircraft.
The incident adds to another recent complaint involving alleged inappropriate sexual behavior aboard a US domestic flight.
About a week earlier, a United Airlines passenger claimed she was seated beside a man engaging in similar behavior during a flight from Rochester to Newark.
In Inzer’s case, federal authorities were contacted for an update as questions surrounding the September 11 flight and any potential next steps remained unresolved.
