Intoxicated Woman Accused of Lewd Act on American Airlines Flight From Baltimore to Miami

A Maryland woman is accused of engaging in sexual misconduct aboard an American Airlines flight after allegedly removing her pants shortly after takeoff and behaving inappropriately in front of other passengers.
Katy Inzer, 46, was traveling on an evening flight from Baltimore to Miami on September 11 when the alleged incident occurred, according to an incident report filed by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
Passenger Alerts Flight Attendant
According to the report, another passenger approached a flight attendant after allegedly witnessing Inzer remove her pants and begin touching herself while making inappropriate sounds.
A crew member then approached Inzer about her behavior.
The report states that Inzer stopped, put her pants back on and subsequently fell asleep for the remainder of the flight.
No further disturbance aboard the aircraft was described in the report.
Officers Meet Inzer After the Flight
When law enforcement officers approached Inzer after the plane arrived in Florida, they reported noticing signs that she had been drinking.
According to the incident report, officers detected a strong smell of alcohol and observed that Inzer’s eyes appeared bloodshot.
Inzer reportedly told authorities that she did not remember the alleged sexual misconduct, saying she had fallen asleep.
Neither Inzer nor sheriff’s officials immediately provided additional comment on the allegations.
Case Referred to the FBI
The case was later forwarded to the FBI because questions remained over which agency had jurisdiction over the alleged conduct aboard the aircraft.
The status of any federal investigation was not immediately clear from the information available.
The incident came just days after another passenger made a separate allegation involving sexual misconduct aboard a United Airlines flight from Rochester to Newark.
Federal authorities have repeatedly urged airline passengers who witness or experience sexual misconduct during a flight to immediately alert crew members and report the incident to law enforcement after landing.
The FBI said it investigated 104 reports of sexual assault and misconduct aboard commercial aircraft in 2024, highlighting the continuing concern surrounding inappropriate behavior on flights.
