Mr. Olympia Judge’s 6-Year-Old Son Dies in Tragic Accident Outside Family’s California Home

A California family is mourning the death of their 6-year-old son after authorities say the boy was accidentally struck by a vehicle driven by his father outside their Temecula home.

Terrick El Guindy, 48, a judge for the Mr. Olympia bodybuilding competition, was backing up his Tesla Cybertruck shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday when it struck his son, Preston, on Brookhaven Court, according to reports.

The family immediately called 911, and Preston was rushed to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar. Despite efforts to save him, he died from his injuries later that night.

Family Friend Remembers a Boy “Always With a Smile”

A fundraiser organized by family friend Stefanie Chesbro described Preston as having been outside playing in his neighborhood when the accident occurred.

El Guindy was questioned about the collision, but was not arrested. A CHP spokesman said the vehicle was not operating in autopilot mode and offered their condolences to the family.

His mother was reportedly beside him at the hospital when he died.

Chesbro said Preston’s parents and his sister, Scarlett, are now facing the devastating loss of their son and brother.

“To know Preston is to love him,” she wrote, remembering the 6-year-old as someone who was “always with a smile on his face” and brought happiness to the people around him.

The family said Preston had only started first grade the previous month.

Father Questioned but Not Arrested

El Guindy was questioned following the collision but was not arrested.

The California Highway Patrol said the Cybertruck was not operating in Autopilot mode at the time of the incident. Authorities have not said whether any dashboard warning or alert notified El Guindy that Preston was behind the vehicle.

The CHP expressed condolences to the family and continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

Beyond his role as a father, El Guindy is well known within professional bodybuilding.

He has served as a judge at Mr. Olympia, one of the sport’s most prominent competitions, and has appeared as a host on Prime Time Muscle and Olympia TV, where he discusses competitors and developments across the bodybuilding world.

But the focus now remains on Preston and a family confronting an unimaginable loss after an ordinary Saturday night outside their home ended in tragedy.
