Meghan Markleâs absence from Prince Harryâs UK trip has reportedly left some Invictus Games organisers ârelieved,â it has been claimed. The Duchess of Sussex pulled out of joint appearances with her husband at the eleventh hour last week, as the Sussexes’ trip had to be altered due to security concerns.
Meghan was expected to join the Duke at engagements both in London and Birmingham during his five-day trip to the UK last week. It was later announced that the duchess would not be joining her husband in London, but that there was still hope she could join him in Birmingham, where Harry officially marked the one-year-to-go countdown for next year’s Invictus Games. But it was further clarified just hours before the engagement that Meghan would not be joining her husband at all.

Now sources claim some Invictus Games organisers âwelcomedâ the last-minute change and said it managed to keep the spotlight on the one thing that matters, the veterans.
A source told journalist Rob Shuter on his Substack: âThere was a real sense of relief backstage.
âWhen Harry comes alone, the focus stays exactly where he wants itâon the veterans, not on the media frenzy that can surround a royal couple. Everyone could relax and let the event shine.â
Another source dubbed the Duke âlow-maintenanceâ and praised him for being easy to work with.
