Chad Lowe’s Father Shares Heartbreaking Tribute to Late Granddaughter Fiona
Charles “Chuck” Lowe has paid tribute to his granddaughter Fiona, one day after the family announced the death of the 13-year-old daughter of actor Chad Lowe.

Chuck shared a photo of Fiona smiling as she swam in a pool on Instagram Wednesday, September 30.
“Rest in peace, sweet Fiona,” he wrote alongside the picture.
The brief tribute came as the Lowe family continues to mourn the loss of Fiona, who died at 13.
Family Remembers Fiona

Chad Lowe, the younger brother of actor Rob Lowe, and his wife, Kim Painter, confirmed Fiona’s death in a statement shared on Tuesday.
The couple described their daughter as “a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance.”
They also spoke about the close bond Fiona shared with her family.
“She was adored by her sisters, and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives,” they said.
The family added that Fiona’s death had devastated them and asked for prayers and privacy as they grieve.
The statement also included information for anyone struggling with mental health, directing them to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.
School Community Offered Support

The loss was also communicated to parents at the school Fiona attended.
According to an email obtained by Page Six, the school’s principal informed parents Tuesday morning that one of its students had died.
The student was not identified in the message, which expressed condolences to the child’s family, friends and teachers.
The school also made counselors available to students and staff who needed emotional support following the news.
Fiona’s Final Public Appearance With Her Family

Chad, 58, and Kim have three daughters together: Mabel, 17, Fiona and Nixie, 10.
One of the family’s final public appearances with Fiona came at the premiere of Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur in Burbank, California, on February 4, 2023.
Chad and Kim attended the event with all three daughters. In one photograph from the occasion, Fiona can be seen with her arm around her younger sister, Nixie, as the family posed together for photographers.
The family had also shared photographs together on social media over the years, offering glimpses of Fiona alongside her parents and sisters.
Chad Lowe Once Called Being a “Girl Dad” a Privilege
Before Fiona’s death, Chad had spoken openly about what it meant to raise three daughters.
During a December 2025 appearance on the Still Here Hollywood podcast, he described being a “girl dad” as a “privilege” and reflected on how fatherhood had changed the way he viewed the world.
“It’s so interesting because always wanting to have my own experiences and not live in the shadow or follow in the footsteps of somebody, I get the experience of being a girl dad, which is such a privilege,” he said.
Chad explained that raising daughters had made issues he had previously understood intellectually feel much more personal.
He spoke about women’s equality, the glass ceiling and the challenges women face in what he described as a misogynistic world.
“And now it’s taken what I’ve known and it’s put it in my heart because I now have three daughters. So I look at the world from, really, their perspective,” he said.
Those words now carry added poignancy as the Lowe family grieves Fiona, remembered by those closest to her as a smart, creative and loving young girl who loved to dance.
