Security staff said they hadn’t seen that many people cry at a concert since the last time Elvis played Bangor — but what happened in Lewiston that night was something else entirely. From the moment Steven Tyler stepped on stage, there was a different kind of energy in the air — raw, electric, and almost reverent. Some fans clutched old vinyls to their chest, others wore Aerosmith tour shirts faded by time and memories. As “Sweet Emotion” roared to life, one Vietnam veteran in the third row reportedly stood up, saluted, and whispered, “This was our anthem.” A woman nearby fainted in her husband’s arms, overcome by nostalgia. And when Tyler hit that iconic scream, more than one grown man was seen wiping his eyes. What made this performance so hauntingly unforgettable? And why are fans calling it the greatest moment in Maine rock history?

We love everything Steven Tyler sings – Janis Joplin covers, his original country songs but of course, we always tend to gravitate towards Aerosmith classics. And with this video, it’s easy to see why. Age has nothing on him, it didn’t even slow him down one bit. At 70 years old, he can still nail songs he sang when he was at his prime.

Inasmuch as we want to use the cliche “he still has it,” it doesn’t seem to do justice to this legend. He rocks harder than anyone at his age.

“For all the arguments I’ve had with Joe Perry, or with the band, around a song, look what’s come out. Nothing but great: “Toys in the Attic” to “Dream On” to “Sweet Emotion” to “Walk This Way.” – Steven Tyler

More than having one of the most easily recognizable voices in rock, he’s a darn good frontman too. And he knows how to put on a great show. If you don’t believe, just watch this clip.
