Kate Hudson sure isn’t feeling blue today. The star is in the house for Oscars 2026, where she is nominated for Best Actress for her work in Song Sung Blue. While it is unknown whether Hudson will walk home with an Academy Award tonight, one thing is clear: she looks absolutely ravishing.
The Running Point star made a grand entrance with her mom, Goldie Hawn, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, turning heads on the red carpet in a custom jade-green Giorgio Armani Privé creation, hailing from the spring/summer 2026 runway. Her glamorous dress featured a plunging sweetheart neckline, bustier, peplum waist, and ornate stone and crystal embroidery. But, that is far from all—the big night called for even bigger jewels, and Hudson delivered in over 41 carats of rare green diamonds worth $35 million.

Hudson has surprisingly only attended the Oscars a handful of times. Her debut came in 2001, when she was up for Best Supporting Actress for her work in Almost Famous (though she ultimately lost the statuette to Marcia Gay Harden for her work in Pollock.) Then, she dropped jaws in a silvery-lilac Stella McCartney gown that featured a low-cut neckline, open back design, fringe details, figure-hugging silhouette, and trailing skirt. She styled her blonde coils in a pretty updo.
Hudson also attended the ceremony in 2003, 2014, and 2023. For her last appearance, she dazzled in a custom-made Rodarte gown that featured double spaghetti straps, an off-the-shoulder detail, a form-fitting silhouette, a long trailing train, and hundreds of sparkly silver sequins everywhere. She styled her strands in a bombshell blowout and wore glowy makeup.

At this year’s ceremony, Hudson and Hawn are positioned to potentially become the first mother and daughter to have both scored an Oscar win. Hudson, 46, is nominated in the Best Actress category at Sunday night’s awards following her performance as Claire Sardina in Song Sung Blue, while her mom already has an Oscar under her belt.
In 1970, Hawn took home the award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in Cactus Flower.
It’s Hudson’s second time in her career being nominated for an Oscar, as she previously had the chance to make history in 2001 when she was nominated for her supporting role as Penny Lane in the hit 2000 film, Almost Famous. (The award that year ultimately went to Marcia Gay Harden for Pollock.)
At this year’s ceremony, Kate is up against Jessie Buckley (Hamnet), Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs, I’d Kick You), Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value) and Emma Stone (Bugonia).
