Families Pay Heartbreaking Tributes to Two 19-Year-Olds Killed in Surrey Crash

The families of two 19-year-old men killed in a three-car crash in Surrey have spoken of their devastating loss, remembering them as kind, hardworking young men who had touched the lives of many around them.

Joshua Farris and Max Redding both died following the collision in the village of East Clandon late on August 21.

Three Seat Leons were involved in the crash, which happened shortly after 11pm.

Surrey Police later arrested three people on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Max Redding Remembered as a Dedicated Sportsman

Max, from Woking, was a keen rugby player who had previously played for Guildfordians Rugby Club.

The club described him as an “exceptional athlete” who was “humble, respectful and deeply committed to his teammates.”

His family said his death had left them facing an immeasurable loss.

“His life was tragically cut short far too soon, and the loss we feel is immeasurable,” they said.

Max had enjoyed several sports from a young age. He took part in gymnastics and trampolining, competing in numerous tournaments, before developing a particular passion for rugby.

His family said that whatever Max chose to pursue, he gave it his full commitment, whether that was sport, work or something he simply enjoyed.

They also described him as someone who loved life and lived it to the fullest.

Since his death, the family said they had received messages and tributes from many people who had known Max and been affected by his kindness.

They said friends had spoken about the support he offered, particularly when they were going through difficult periods in their own lives.

“Knowing how loved he was, and hearing the difference he made to so many people, has made us incredibly proud of the young man he became,” his family said.

Max will be deeply missed by his family, friends, work colleagues and everyone who knew him.

Joshua Farris Remembered for His Kindness

Joshua, also from Woking, was working as an apprentice mechanic.

His parents said their son “had his whole life ahead of him” and remembered him as a thoughtful and generous person who was always willing to help others.

“Joshua had a kind and thoughtful nature and would do anything for anyone,” they said.

Whether someone needed help within the family, among friends or was simply in need, Joshua was always prepared to step in without expecting anything in return.

His parents said he brought happiness to those around him and was loved by everyone who knew him.

They also remembered his caring personality, loyalty and willingness to put other people before himself.

“The loss of Joshua has left a huge hole in our hearts,” they said.

Although devastated by his death, his family said they would continue to treasure the memories they shared with him and the happiness he brought into their lives.

They also thanked everyone who had offered kindness, support and condolences during what they described as an incredibly difficult time.

Joshua, they said, would be deeply missed every day but would never be forgotten.

Three Arrests After the Collision

Following the crash, Surrey Police arrested three people on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Those arrested were a 22-year-old man from Woking, a 21-year-old woman from Guildford and a 19-year-old man from Guildford.

Police have appealed for anyone with information that could assist the investigation to come forward.
