British Motocross Rider Jamie Wainwright Dies at 28 as Fiancée Pays Emotional Tribute

British motocross rider Jamie Wainwright has died at the age of 28, leaving behind his fiancée of 13 years, Hannah Murray, who described life without him as “impossible.”

Wainwright, from Ashby-de-la-Zouch in Leicestershire, is understood to have died following a motorcycle incident last month. The circumstances surrounding his death have not been disclosed.

His death has left family, friends and those within the motocross community mourning a rider who was deeply committed to the sport and competed for several respected teams during his career.

A Dedicated Motocross Competitor

Wainwright built a reputation as a skilled motocross competitor and rode for teams including Revo Seven Kawasaki and Apex Motocross.

During his racing career, he competed on both KTM and Kawasaki motorcycles, according to NeedToKnow.

Away from competition, Wainwright was also the long-term partner of Hannah Murray. The couple had been together for 13 years, and Murray has now paid tribute to the man she described as her “best friend.”

Fiancée Says Life Feels “Impossible” Without Him

In an emotional tribute, Murray spoke of the devastating impact of losing Wainwright and the future they had shared.

“This hurts more than anything in this world, and life feels impossible without you in it. My heart has broken into a million pieces; a life without you is something I never imagined would ever happen,” she said.

Murray described Wainwright as her “right arm” and the person she could turn to for anything.

She remembered him as someone who made her laugh constantly and said the 13 years they spent together had been the best years of her life.

“I will miss and love you for every second of the rest of my life. Nothing is ever going to be the same; this world feels so scary without you here,” she said.

Murray also reflected on the depth of her devotion to Wainwright, saying she would have done anything for him and had believed they would be together forever.

She ended her tribute by saying she hoped he would continue to watch over her because she would need him.

Family Remembers Jamie

A spokesperson for the funeral directors said that James Wainwright, known to those close to him as Jamie, died on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, aged 28.

He was remembered as a much-loved son of Chris and Karen, a cherished brother to Ben and Matt, a devoted fiancé to Hannah, and a much-loved uncle to Summer.

The statement added that Jamie would be remembered for the life he lived, the memories he created and the many special moments shared with the people who knew and loved him.

Funeral to Take Place in His Hometown

Wainwright’s funeral is scheduled to take place at Holy Trinity Church in his hometown on Wednesday, September 16.

His death has brought an end to the life of a young rider whose career was closely tied to motocross, while his family and fiancée now face the loss of someone who had been a central part of their lives for many years.
