Chad Lowe’s Daughter Fiona Dies at 13 as Family Remembers Their “Light”

Chad Lowe and his family are mourning the death of his 13-year-old daughter, Fiona, after a medical examiner’s report confirmed the cause of her death.

Fiona died at a hospital on Tuesday. Her family had announced the devastating news in a statement on September 29, remembering the teenager as a smart, creative and loving girl with a passion for dance.

According to the medical examiner’s report, Fiona’s death was ruled a suicide.

Family remembers a deeply loved daughter and sister

In their statement, the Lowe family described Fiona as someone who brought enormous joy to those closest to her.

They said she was adored by her sisters and deeply loved by her parents, calling her “the light of our lives.”

The family added that her death had been devastating for everyone and asked for prayers and privacy as they grieved.

They concluded their statement by directing people experiencing a mental health crisis to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Fiona was the middle daughter of Chad Lowe and his wife, Kim Painter. The couple also share daughters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10.

School community offered counseling

Fiona’s death was also addressed by the school she attended.

An email sent to parents informed families of the loss without identifying the student by name. Counseling resources were made available to students and staff affected by the news.

A source described Fiona as a “very well-liked student” who had many friends.

Her grandfather, Charles “Chuck” Lowe, also shared a tribute to Fiona, posting a photograph of his granddaughter in a swimming pool alongside the words: “Rest in peace, sweet Fiona.”

Chad had often shared his pride in being a father to three girls and posted about Fiona’s milestones and accomplishments.

One of his particularly poignant messages came on her birthday last November, when Fiona officially became a teenager.

“Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!!” he wrote, before encouraging his daughter to “Keep dancing through life FiBear!” and telling her how much he loved her.

The message has taken on heartbreaking significance following her death.

Fiona was known for her love of dance, something her family highlighted both during her life and while remembering her after her passing.

The Lowe family has asked for privacy as Fiona’s parents, sisters, relatives, friends and school community continue to mourn her loss.
