New Details Emerge About Where Presley Gerber Was Found at Rehab Facility

New details have emerged about the circumstances surrounding Presley Gerber’s death, with a report stating that the 27-year-old model was found inside a bedroom at the Santa Monica, California, sober living facility where he died on September 20.

According to sources close to the investigation who spoke to TMZ, Gerber’s body was discovered near the bed on Sunday night. He was not found on the bed itself, although the sources did not specify exactly where in the room he was located.

The latest information adds to the picture of Gerber’s final hours as authorities continue investigating his death.

Investigation into suspected overdose continues

Sources told TMZ that fentanyl has not emerged in the investigation so far. Toxicology testing by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner will ultimately help determine what substances, if any, were in Gerber’s system.

Gerber went into cardiac arrest before his death, according to 911 dispatch audio previously obtained by Page Six. Police have been investigating the case as a suspected overdose, but his official cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has said the investigation remains ongoing. An autopsy has been completed, but additional testing is still required before a final cause of death can be established.

Gerber had only recently entered the facility

Gerber reportedly checked into the Santa Monica facility on the Saturday before his death. Sources previously told Page Six that he did not appear sober when he arrived.

He had also reportedly been receiving round-the-clock support from a sober coach in the months leading up to his death. TMZ reported that the coach had been a significant presence in his life, although it remains unclear whether the coach was with Gerber at the facility that weekend.

Reports have also raised questions about medication and substance use in the period before his death. However, the exact role of any substance in Gerber’s death has not been established while the medical examination remains pending.

A long-public struggle with mental health and addiction

Gerber, the only son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, had spoken publicly about his struggles with substance abuse and mental health.

His difficulties had also resulted in public troubles, including a 2018 DUI that led to a three-year probation period.

In November last year, Gerber addressed his decision to step away from social media, explaining that he needed to take time to focus on his mental health. The siblings were reportedly extremely close. Following Presley’s death, a source told Page Six that Kaia was struggling deeply with the loss of her brother.
