Former Fox Business Producer Jennifer Eckhart Dies at 36

Jennifer Eckhart, a former Fox Business associate producer and host of the podcast REINVENTED, has died at the age of 36.

Eckhart was found dead at her home in Martin County, Florida, on Friday, September 19, authorities said. A spokesperson for the Martin County Sheriff’s Office said her death appeared to be a suicide. No additional details about the circumstances were released.

Her death brings an abrupt end to a career that included work in television journalism, podcasting and advocacy, as well as a highly publicized legal battle involving former Fox News anchor Ed Henry.

A career built around stories of resilience

After working as an associate producer at Fox Business, Eckhart went on to develop her own media projects.

She was the host of REINVENTED, a podcast focused on people who had faced major setbacks and found ways to rebuild their personal or professional lives. According to Eckhart’s website, the program featured business leaders, athletes, entertainers, CEOs and other prominent figures who had overcome adversity.

The podcast’s most recent episode was published in March and featured former Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg. Eckhart’s own website described the series as an effort to encourage listeners to embrace change and consider their own paths of reinvention.

Following her departure from Fox, Eckhart also became involved in work supporting trauma survivors. People reported that she founded The Reinvented Project, a nonprofit focused on helping survivors through animal-assisted therapy.

The 2020 allegations against Ed Henry

Eckhart became nationally known in 2020 after filing a lawsuit accusing former Fox News anchor Ed Henry of sexual assault, including an allegation of rape.

The lawsuit, filed in federal court in July 2020, described alleged sexual misconduct that Eckhart said occurred while she was working for Fox News Media. Henry denied the allegations. Fox News said it had fired Henry following an internal investigation into a complaint of sexual misconduct.

The case continued through the courts for years.

In March 2025, a federal judge granted Fox News’ motion for summary judgment, dismissing the claims against the network. The court allowed several claims against Henry to proceed at that stage.

Eckhart’s legal battle with Henry was later settled in 2025, according to People and Entertainment Weekly. The settlement came after years of litigation and before a planned trial.

A difficult period after leaving Fox

Eckhart’s life in the years after her departure from Fox also included legal and personal difficulties.

In July 2025, she was arrested in Palm Beach County on suspicion of battery following an alleged confrontation with her then-boyfriend. According to an arrest affidavit cited by the Daily Mail and reported by the New York Post, video allegedly showed Eckhart yelling at Thomas Beasley, striking him and pulling at his shirt during the confrontation.

Eckhart was released on her own recognizance without having to post bail. The allegations described in the affidavit were not presented as a finding of guilt.

Despite those challenges, Eckhart continued developing her media career, using REINVENTED as a platform for conversations about setbacks, recovery and starting over.

Authorities have released few details

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office has not publicly provided further information about the circumstances surrounding Eckhart’s death beyond confirming that authorities believed it was a suicide.

Eckhart was 36.

Her career had taken her from television production to independent journalism and podcasting, while her public profile had also been shaped by the legal case that began in 2020. In REINVENTED, she regularly focused on the idea of rebuilding after difficult chapters — a theme that had become closely associated with her work in the years before her death.
