Patrick Clancy Recalls Final Four Days With Baby Callan After Losing His Three Children

Patrick Clancy has opened up about one of the most painful moments of his family’s tragedy, describing how his 8-month-old son Callan survived for four days in hospital before dying in his arms.

Speaking in a deeply emotional interview, Patrick recalled initially believing there was still hope for his youngest child after discovering that Callan had a heartbeat. His two older children, Cora, 5, and Dawson, 3, had already died following the January 2023 incident at the family’s home in Duxbury, Massachusetts.

“Just Gimme One”

Patrick said that after learning Callan was still alive, he desperately hoped his baby boy might survive.

“I really thought there was a chance that Callan would live,” he recalled, explaining that he found himself pleading for just one of his children to survive so he could raise him and tell him about his brother and sister.

Callan was airlifted to Boston Children’s Hospital and remained alive for another four days.

Patrick said he remains grateful for every one of those days.

When the end came, Patrick was able to be beside his son.

He recalled apologizing to Callan, holding him and lying next to him as the baby died in his arms.

Speaking Out After Lindsay Clancy’s Mistrial

The interview came only weeks after the trial of Patrick’s former wife, Lindsay Clancy, ended in a mistrial on September 4, 2026.

Eleven jurors favored finding Lindsay not guilty by reason of insanity, while one juror disagreed, leaving the panel unable to reach a unanimous verdict.

Patrick had supported Lindsay during his trial testimony, describing how her mental health deteriorated after the birth of their third child and how she repeatedly sought medical help.

He also revealed that Lindsay never asked him to forgive her for the deaths of their children — but said he chose to forgive her anyway.

Leaving Duxbury Behind

Patrick described how difficult ordinary life became once the initial wave of support following the tragedy faded.

One particularly painful moment came when he drove past his children’s school at exactly the time their friends were being dropped off. The experience contributed to his decision that he could no longer remain in Duxbury. He later moved to New York City, where he said the anonymity allowed him to grieve more openly.

Patrick has since remarried. He and his wife, fertility doctor Rachel Danis, married in April and revealed that they hope to start a family together. Patrick said any future children will grow up hearing about Cora, Dawson and Callan as their siblings.

For Patrick, however, moving forward does not mean leaving his three children behind. Their memory remains woven into the life he is now trying to build after a tragedy he says he continues to live with every day.
