Prince Harry’s ‘New Title’ After UK Return Leaves Royal Fans Furious: ‘No F****** Way!’
Prince Harry appears to be embracing a very different role after returning to Britain with Meghan Markle and their two children — but his reported new “title” has already triggered a fierce backlash from some royal fans.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced earlier this month that they were moving back to the UK with Archie and Lilibet. The family arrived in Birmingham on Wednesday, August 26, travelling from California on a private jet.
The couple are reportedly preparing to establish a new base in the Cotswolds, with their children potentially attending schools in the surrounding area. Meghan, meanwhile, has been linked to a possible return to acting after stepping away from the profession in 2017, shortly before marrying Harry.
But while Meghan may be considering a return to the screen, Harry has offered a glimpse into what his own role could look like.
According to The Times, the Duke has described himself as a “full-time dad” — effectively taking on what some have branded his new four-word identity: “stay-at-home dad.”
Harry made the comment during a public appearance on rugby star Joe Marler’s podcast, Joe Marler Will See You Now, where he spoke about his role as a father.
The description, however, did not sit well with everyone.
Some royal fans were quick to question whether Harry could genuinely be described as a stay-at-home father given the level of household support available to the Sussex family.
One critic wrote on X: “‘Staying at home dad’? You still have nannies, housekeepers, chefs and gardeners. The kids are at school until mid-afternoon. Watching Archie play rugby once a week does not make you a stay-at-home dad. That’s not how it works, hun.”
Another furious commenter was even more blunt, writing: “Haz a stay home dad — no F**** way…”**
Yet others pushed back against the criticism, pointing out that Harry’s life is unlikely to revolve solely around childcare.
The Duke remains involved in a number of charitable and philanthropic projects, including the Invictus Games, which supports wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans. He also founded Travalyst and serves as an ambassador for WellChild and Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
For now, however, exactly what Harry and Meghan’s return to Britain will look like remains unclear.
The couple formally stepped down as working members of the Royal Family after relocating to the United States and are not expected to resume official royal duties.
It is also unclear whether their move back across the Atlantic represents a permanent new chapter or simply another temporary stay.
After years of building a life in California, Harry’s description of himself as a “full-time dad” has offered one intriguing clue about the future — but for some royal watchers, the title has already become a source of controversy.
