Premier League chief Richard Masters admits frustration over delay in Man City’s 115-charge verdict
The long-running case surrounding Manchester City’s alleged breaches of Premier League financial rules remains unresolved, with Premier League chief Richard Masters acknowledging that the process has taken longer than expected.
City are still waiting for a verdict on the 115 charges brought against them in February 2023. The club has consistently denied any wrongdoing, but the case continues to cast uncertainty over the reigning giants as they enter a new era.
Masters: ‘I do understand the frustrations’

Speaking to Sky News, Masters said he understood why supporters were becoming frustrated by the lack of a decision.
However, he insisted that he was unable to reveal any details about the progress or timing of the case because the process remains confidential.
“Our rules are very clear about that – I have to keep everything confidential until we’re ready to hand down a decision and be clear about it,” Masters said.
“I can’t give any update on timing or what’s happening.”
He added: “There’s only one available route through this, which is to allow the process to take its course.
“It has taken longer than expected, and I do understand the frustrations.”
The comments come more than three years after the Premier League announced the charges, with no final verdict yet made public.
City enter a new era amid uncertainty

The case remains unresolved as Manchester City begin their next chapter under Enzo Maresca.
Maresca takes charge following the departure of Pep Guardiola, who left the club at the end of last season after a decade at the helm.
During his time in Manchester, Guardiola won six Premier League titles, as well as the Champions League, Club World Cup and numerous other trophies.
City will begin their Premier League campaign at home against Bournemouth on Sunday.
But the new season has already brought questions for Maresca after City suffered a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in the Community Shield.
The result suggests the new manager could have plenty to address if City are to remain in the title race.
Another major change for Manchester City
City must also deal with the departure of World Cup winner Rodri, who moved to Barcelona following the Community Shield result.
With a new manager, a key departure and the unresolved 115-charge case still hanging over the club, Manchester City face a season filled with uncertainty.
For now, however, Masters has made clear that there will be no further update on the case until the confidential process reaches the point where a decision can be announced.
