Deanna Duggar begs police to investigate her brother Jim Bob's entire family

Jim Bob Duggar’s sister Deanna Duggar has said that she believes her brother’s entire family ‘should be investigated’ following her nephew Joseph Duggar’s arrest… as her daughter Amy King shared a blistering message to her estranged uncle and cousins.

Back in March, father-of-four Joseph, 31, was arrested over allegations he molested a nine-year-old girl several times during a family trip to Panama City Beach, Florida, in 2020.

He was charged with several counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor. Separately, Duggar was also charged with four counts of false imprisonment and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child, which emerged following a wider investigation into the allegations. He has plead not guilty to all of the charges.

Now, Deanna, 53, has reflected on her nephew’s shocking arrest during a recent appearance on The Sarah Fraser Show with her daughter, Amy.

When asked by host Fraser if she thinks her brother Jim Bob, 60, and his wife, Michelle Duggar, 59, ‘should be investigated,’ she said she believed the couple and their 19 kids should be ‘checked out.’

In addition to Joseph’s arrest, Josh Duggar, 38, was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison in 2022 after being found guilty of receiving and possessing child pornography.

‘In my opinion, I do believe that they should be investigated, just because of everything that has happened,’ she said of Jim Bob and Michelle, before adding: ‘Everybody should be checked out in that family.’

‘It stems from somewhere,’ Amy interjected.

Deanna said she thinks the children ‘should be in therapy.’

‘I think maybe they have suppressed a whole lot and haven’t come to terms with the things that have gone on,’ Amy agreed.

Jim Bob and Michelle, along with their 19 kids, were propelled into the spotlight after they starred in the TLC series 19 Kids and Counting from 2008 to 2015, followed by its spinoff, Counting On, from 2015 to 2021.

The reality show documented the family-of-21’s day-to-day lives as members of the Christian group, The Institute in Basic Life Principles.

Created by shunned minister Bill Gothard, the organization contains a set of incredibly-strict rules that control almost every aspect of members’ lives – including who they should date and how they should dress.

The family has become embroiled in scandal over the last few years.

Elsewhere in the interview, Amy branded Joe and Josh as ‘monsters’ and described their behavior as ‘sickening.’

‘I don’t understand how someone becomes a monster overnight … It blows my mind when I hear about these double lives and how quickly they can make a decision that’s so heartbreaking,’ she said.

‘I don’t understand Joseph or Josh’s behavior. I can’t comprehend it, it’s so sickening to me.’

Both Amy and Deanna were featured in the reality show over the years, however, they have since cut ties with the family.

When asked if she would ever reconcile with Jim Bob, Deanna revealed that he attempted to make up with her at her uncle’s funeral last year.

‘I said, “It’s not the time or place to talk right now,”‘ she recalled, adding that while she would be open to it there would have to be strict ‘boundaries’ set.

Amy, however, was less open to the idea and issued a stark message to her uncle.

‘Tough luck buddy because you still believe in IBLP and you don’t protect children. If you don’t protect children we have nothing in common and I will not allow that in my life,’ she said.

‘Trust is like paper. If you have a piece of paper and you roll it up and crumble it and then try to make it all smooth again, it’s not gonna happen.

‘Right now, my main goal is to protect her and her heart and dignity and my son.’
