New Sex and the City feud as Mr Big star makes savage dig at Sarah Jessica Parker
Sex and the City has been plagued by the fallout between Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall and now Chris Noth, who played Mr Big, appears to have taken aim at his former co-star
A new Sex and the City feud appears to be brewing after Mr Big star, Chris Noth, made a cryptic comment on Instagram.
The iconic HBO show, which has millions of fans worldwide, has been plagued by the bitter fallout between Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall, who played Carrie and Samantha respectively. In a shocking statement Kim accused Sarah Jessica of being a ‘hypocrite’ when she reached out after Kim’s brother’s death, adding that the actresses were “never friends”. Meanwhile, SJP said she was hurt by Kim’s comments, claiming that’s ‘not how she remembers’ their time on set.
In the latest drama for the show, which was rebooted four years ago for the And Just Like That follow-up, Chris, 71, who was one of SATC’S biggest stars, appears to have made a dig at SJP, 60.
Chris was surrounded in scandal back in 2021 after two anonymous women claimed he sexually assaulted them in separate incidents in 2004 and 2015.
No charges were ever brought and the actor has vehemently denied the claims as ‘categorically false,’ but his exit from the spotlight was sudden and he has not starred in a film or TV show since.
Now, Chris has taken to social media with a cryptic comment after SJP was honoured with the Carol Burnett Award before the Golden Globes on the weekend.
The veteran actress was given the accolade last Thursday during a Golden Eve special, and during her acceptance speech, she gushed over working with the “most glorious ensemble of women and actors” on SATC for the last 25 years.
However, Chris, who only appeared in one episode of And Just Like That before Big died from a heart attack on a Peloton, didn’t seem too pleased.
Taking to Instagram, he shared a snap of himself at the gym with the caption: “F&@k New Years – LET’S GO!” When a fan responded in the comment section with: “You mean f**k Sarah Jessica Parker and her award right? Lol,” he replied with: “Right.” Fans were baffled by the apparent dig, with one demanding: “I need the tea”.
After the scandal surrounding Chris broke in 2021, he denied sexually assaulting the two women who came forward to THR, instead claiming they were ‘consensual encounters.’
“The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false,” he said in a statement to the publication at the time.
Giving their response, SJP and co-stars, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis, said: “We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth.
“We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”
In a 2022 interview with THR, SJP said she had not been in contact with Chris, who played her iconic love interest in SATC and the follow-up films, since the scandal.
