A convicted child killer who is reportedly “cowering in fear” behind bars has allegedly adopted a new name in an attempt to shield himself. As one of the nation’s most reviled prisoners, Varley faces a difficult time in prison while serving his whole-life order for sexually abusing and murdering his adopted 13-month-old son, Preston Davey.

A former prison governor previously stated Varley could encounter “non-stop psychological warfare” within the infamous HMP Wakefield in West Yorkshire, where paedophile rock singer Ian Watkins was killed last year.
Reports now indicate Varley is already finding life difficult as he begins his life sentence at the so-called “Monster Mansion”. He’s allegedly been placed on D Wing, which houses other child killers and sex offenders.
The Mail reports that fellow inmates refer to it as the “super nonces wing”, an area that accommodates the “lowest of the low”. And it seems that the convicted murderer is fully conscious of his situation.

Varley was shaking, with tears “welling up”, as he was taken through the doors to his cell, the publication claims. Since his arrival, he’s believed to have spent the majority of his time in confinement, only emerging for meals and exercise.

Additional indications that he may be attempting to avoid retribution in prison include reports he has taken on a new identity. Varley is said to now be going by the name Harry Robb, amid suggestions there is a “bounty” on his head.
The Mail writes: “Following reports a bounty had been placed on his head, Varley changed his name in a desperate attempt to save his skin.
“Sources now say his arrival was low key – but chillingly, a number of inmates have already approached the cell where he spends hour after hour cowering in fear.”

According to one source, several prisoners had even come to his door, attempting to “suss” the child killer out. They revealed that Varley had also found an associate, “some no-mark con” he reportedly knew from Liverpool.

Varley’s partner, John McGowan-Fazakerley, was sentenced to 25 years for child cruelty, sexual abuse and allowing the death of a child.
Ricky Killeen, a former prisoner who previously spent time in the same prison as Soham murderer Ian Huntley, has offered insight into the ordeal he expects awaits the “horrid monster”.
Speaking on his Behind Bars TV channel on YouTube : “He will spend the rest of his sorry days, sh*****g himself, petrified, waiting for that fateful day when karma comes a-knocking and looking for him.”
He added: “When Varley asks for help, and he starts talking to the screws out the door, then obviously they’ve got a duty because he’s on an ACCT to make sure he doesn’t do anything to himself.
