Netflix’s latest true-crime documentary has viewers questioning just how well they really know the person living next door.
“Worst Neighbor Ever” delves into real-life disputes that spiraled into shocking acts of violence, fraud, and deception, proving that sometimes the greatest danger can be found just beyond the fence.
“‘Worst Neighbor Ever’ takes a deep dive into four different cases, each set in a seemingly close-knit neighborhood, until everyday quarrels spiral into harassment, intimidation, and sometimes deadly violence,” the streaming giant’s description reads.
Each episode of the show features a different case, with several of those impacted by the ghastly events interviewed on screenâretelling the tale in their own, chilling words.
Here, Realtor.comÂŽ lifts the lid on the terrifying true-life events depicted in the seriesâand what happened to those left behind when the cameras stopped rolling.
“She Finally Snapped“

The opening episode of Netflix’s “Worst Neighbor Ever” centers on a quiet Kentucky neighborhood where a long-running dispute between neighbors ended in tragedy.
The documentary follows Shawna and David Scott, whose relationship with former friend Frances Zaayer unraveled after she moved into a home across the street.
What started as an ordinary neighborhood disagreement steadily escalated through years of confrontations, police involvement, and mounting tension.
Despite repeated efforts to resolve the conflict, the situation reached a devastating breaking point when Zaayer forced her way into the couple’s home in 2018.
David was killed in the attack, while Shawna survived after being critically injured.
Through interviews with those closest to the case and archival footage, the documentary examines how a seemingly peaceful residential street became the setting for one of the country’s most shocking neighbor disputes.
