The young royal will soon make a major change that doesn’t involve his siblings.

Prince George will be hitting a huge milestone today that will leave his younger siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, sad. Today marks the young royal’s last day at Lambrook before he heads off to Eton College in September. The three siblings all attended the private preparatory school in Berkshire, which offers a weekly Saturday school followed by an afternoon of sports for all pupils in Year 5 and above. Charlotte, 11, and eight-year-old Louis still attend the school in Berkshire.

However, George, who will turn 13 this month, will move to Eton next school year. Kensington Palace announced in June that George will be following in his father’s footsteps after the Wales family made the decision to enrol their son at the prestigious boarding school.

They said in a statement: “Kensington Palace can confirm that Prince George will attend Eton College from this September.”

At the school, George will have a choice of an incredible 28 subjects to study, including “nine Modern and Classical Languages”.

Among the subjects on offer are traditional ones like English literature, mathematics and the three sciences: biology, chemistry and physics.

Subjects such as Ancient History, Latin, Greek, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, History (medieval, early modern or modern), History of Art, Geography, Design, Art, Music, Theology, Theatre Studies, Economics, Government and Politics, Music Technology and Computer Science, are also on the curriculum.

Although William said to be “thrilled” that his son will be attending school at which he studied, both the future king and his wife, Princess Kate, are likely to also “be concerned” about their son’s new experience.

Melanie Sanderson, managing editor of The Good School Guide, told People: “I’m sure, like any parents, Catherine and William will be concerned that he’s going to find his place, find the right kind of friends and thrive.”

George is expected to return home regularly to spend time with his family at their new home, Forest Lodge, just a few miles from the school.
