After suffering a life-changing stroke in 2020, comedian Sinbad is celebrating another milestone. A touching new moment shows him smiling as he’s embraced by his son Royce and daughter Paige. The emotional reunion comes as Sinbad returns to the stage for the first time since his health battle, making the family moment even more meaningful for longtime fans.

Sinbad’s children are showering him with love.

Not only did Royce and Paige Adkins honor their dad for Father’s Day, but the two have also been there to support the comedian, 69, as he made his return to stand-up, with two recent performances.

“Stuntin’ like my daddy at all times. Love you and happy Father’s Day! 🙏🏽❤️,” Royce captioned his photo of the three.

Sinbad (real name David Adkins) suffered a stroke in October 2020, his family confirmed. In November 2022, his family shared an update on Instagram and his website, explaining that the stroke was triggered after a blood clot traveled from his heart to his brain.

The actor — known for comedy-movie roles in Coneheads (1993), Jingle All the Way (1996)First Kid (1996) and Good Burger (1997), as well as the TV series A Different World and others — made his first public appearance since the stroke in February 2024, joining other Different World cast members via Zoom for the first stop on a 10-city tour of historically Black colleges and universities in Atlanta.

Last month, Paige got the opportunity to open for her father in his first comedy show since the stroke, sharing her excitement for the milestone on her Instagram.

“Tonight, I’m opening for the man, the myth, the legend himself. My daddy makes his return back to the stage at the legendary Ice House,” she wrote. “This is bigger than I can fully comprehend.”
