Former BBC Breakfast presenter Nina Warhurst has updated her followers after sparking concern.

The newsreader has been a staple on screens since joining the broadcaster in 2010, and has been a business and consumer presenter on BBC Breakfast.

In May 2024, Nina began presenting BBC News at One and became its lead presenter the following year.

However, during broadcasts this week, Nina sparked concerns over her appearance, as fans questioned why she wasn’t wearing any make-up on one side of her face.

She took to Instagram to address the messages, explaining she had been advised to let her eye rest.

“I’m in no pain or discomfort, and my lovely pharmacist is helping – left eye just needs a few days off makeup.”

Fans had shared their concern on social media, with one writing: “Poor Nina.”

Nina continued to update her followers, showing that she was up and about, wearing her England football top ahead of the match on Wednesday night.

Nina confirmed her new role as lead presenter on BBC News at One last year, following Anna Foster.

She said at the time: “I’ll be hanging up the high-viz and hairnet for a wee while as I join the BBC’s News at One.
