Alysa Liu‘s love for skating outweighs everything. The 20-year-old figure skater has kept her personal life pretty private, but has spoken up about it before her Olympic run.

Liu made waves at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina when she won with Team USA during the team event, as well as scoring gold in women’s singles. Her unconventional alternative hair and appearance have been making headlines; her competition and Olympic Gala performances featuring music from PinkPantheress, Zara Larsson, and Donna Summer caused their Spotify streams to rise, and she’s now dubbed by fans to be in the “Wasian Hall of Fame” alongside Hudson Williams and Eileen Gu.

Even after retiring and coming back, Alysa still has a lot of energy and stamina in her career. So, where does that put her dating life?

Does Alysa Liu have a boyfriend?

Alysa Liu is currently single, and she plans to keep her relationship status that way.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan, she was asked about balancing her competitions with her dating life. She responded, “Oh my god, this is, like, the first time I’ve talked about this. That’s a whole other thing that I’m not feeling right now. I have so much love in my life already, and I have so many amazing people, I just haven’t felt the need to look for more or look elsewhere.”

She emphasized that she “really love[s]” herself, and that her “standards are quite high.” She also noted that her figure skating schedule could get in the way of her everyday routine. “If I were to date someone, we’d each have to make tons of sacrifices. It’s just not worth it at this point to build something. I think when it comes, it will. I love being single, I really do. I do see myself being single for a long time. Especially right now, I choose friendships over relationships any day.”
