CNN Guest Calls Out The View Right In Front Of Ana Navarro During Live Broadcast — And The Blunt Criticism Makes For An Uncomfortable On-Air Moment. Ana Navarro is no stranger to heated television debates. But this time, the criticism wasn’t coming from across The View’s famous table. During a live CNN appearance, a fellow guest took aim at the daytime talk show while Navarro was present, turning an ordinary discussion into an unexpectedly pointed exchange. The remarks put The View itself under scrutiny, leaving Navarro in the unusual position of hearing criticism of her own programme on another network. 👀 Watch What The Guest Said To Ana Navarro’s Face — And How The CNN Exchange Unfolded 👇

The Republican “View” cohost remained silent as Scott Jennings criticized the talk show amid Disney’s recent tussle with the Federal Communications Commission.

CNN guest Scott Jennings turned up the heat on The View’s Ana Navarro during a recent panel debate live on the news network.

Jennings — whom Navarro, also a Republican, has tensely sparred with on air in the past — weighed in Wednesday night amid a mixed panel of right- and left-leaning commentators breaking down various issues related to Donald Trump’s handling of the media in recent months.

The discussion began on the CNN NewsNight program over Trump’s Federal Communications Commission, which has set its sights on attempting to enforce a long-standing “equal time” rule mandating that, if a news show gives airtime to one candidate, it must give the same opportunity to all contenders in that respective race.

Though entertainment-style shows and talk series are typically exempt from the rule, Trump’s FCC (headed by Brendan Carr) looked into The View over the rule earlier this year after the show broadcast an interview with Texas Senate candidate James Talarico. The investigation struck a nerve at ABC and parent company Disney, enough so that the show invoked the legacy of Barbara Walters in a June commercial urging audiences to take action against the FCC as a result of the inquiry.

On CNN, commentators Jason Rantz and Jennings both voiced issue with complaints over the FCC’s perceived targeting, including Jimmy Kimmel Live announcing that it would avoid broadcast scrutiny by airing its interview with Talarico online instead of on the main talk show.

“There’s a difference between ABC and a cable channel,” Jennings said. “I think the Talarico thing was a total setup. They did that knowing they wanted to put it on the internet and then claimed they were being silenced or banned. No one is silencing Jimmy Kimmel.” (Entertainment Weekly has reached out to ABC representatives for comment.)

Jennings then turned toward Navarro, a longtime CNN contributor, telling her, “Your shows [like] The View, is able to do whatever it wants. Nobody is doing anything to anyone. Democrats, liberals, they get plenty of access to the airwaves. The comedians get to make all the jokes they want to make. Conservatives are very critical of this.”

Navarro didn’t reply to Jennings’ words, nor did she reference anything related to his criticism of The View during the segment. EW has reached out to a View representative for a response.

Jennings and Navarro have long clashed over political topics on CNN, on topics related to Vice President Kamala Harris to Trump’s claim that Haitian immigrants were eating their local cats and dogs.

Navarro has also tussled with other notable figures across her various televised appearances on CNN.

In June, Navarro went head-to-head with former Shake It Up Disney star turned Trump aide Caroline Sunshine in an epic clash on the news channel.

The clash occurred over Trump’s repeated criticism of female journalists, including CNN’s Kaitlan Collins.

“Give me a break,” Sunshine said. Navarro clapped back: “Have you no shame as a woman? The way he called them ugly and piggy and crooked and liars and stupid and bad journalists? Have you absolutely no solidarity with women?”

Navarro continued, referencing Trump’s numerous insults about Collins: “Oh my God. I can’t believe you sit here and tell me to give you a break when, in this network, we hear him tell our journalists that she’s not fit to be a journalist because she doesn’t smile. How dare you tell me to give you a break. Have some shame, why don’t you?”
